This Privacy Policy describes how Attendance Tracker PRO ("We", "Us", "Our", or the "Company") collects, processes, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our mobile application and related services.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in strict accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Google Play Data Safety guidelines.

1. Information We Collect

Welcome to Attendance Tracker PRO (the "App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under major privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 (India). By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Roles Under the DPDP Act, 2023

Data Fiduciary: The developer of Attendance Tracker PRO acts as the Data Fiduciary. We do not process any personal data outside your device without your clear, affirmative consent. Analytics tracking requires you to explicitly opt-in.
Data Principal: You act as the Data Principal. You have full control to correct or erase your local data within the App.

2. Notice of Itemized Data Collection (Section 5, DPDP Act)

We collect and process the following specific categories of personal data with your explicit consent:

A. Local Data (Stored Strictly on Your Device)

What is collected: Subject names, attendance records (present/absent/cancelled), timetable schedules, and app settings.
Purpose: Used strictly locally by the App to display your attendance, calculate statistics, and trigger local notification reminders on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store this core data on any external servers.

B. Usage & Analytics Data (Explicit Opt-In Required)

What is collected: Anonymous screen visits, interactions (taps, swipes), device model, operating system version, and crash logs.
Purpose: Used in an aggregated and anonymized format to debug crashes, improve the user interface, and understand which features are most used. We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or exact locations.

Device Permissions & Justifications

To perform its advertised core functionality as an advanced time tracker, mission countdown tool, and exact alarm clock, our application requests specific operating system permissions:

Local Storage / SharedPreferences
To save your attendance records, timetable schedules, and application preferences securely on your device.
Local Notifications
To trigger local notification reminders for your classes and schedule on your device.
INTERNET (Network Access)
Used exclusively if you opt-in to Analytics, to transmit anonymized crash logs and usage interactions to Microsoft Clarity.

3. Consent & Right to Withdraw Consent (Section 6, DPDP Act)

This tracking is disabled by default. We only collect analytics data if you provide explicit, affirmative consent (opt-in).

Right to Withdraw Consent (Section 6(4))

You have the absolute right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw consent by:

If you opted into Analytics, you can withdraw your consent at any time by navigating to Settings -> Analytics & Tracking and turning the toggle off.
You can permanently delete all local data by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the App.
You can also use the "Reset App Data" option in Settings.

Deletion happens instantly on your physical device without needing to submit server requests.

4. Right to Erasure / Account Deletion (Section 12(3), DPDP Act & Google Play)

Because your core data is local, you have full control to permanently delete it at any time.

In-App Deletion: You can use the "Reset App Data" option in Settings to wipe all attendance records and timetables.
Manual Deletion: You can permanently delete all data by clearing the App's storage in your device settings or uninstalling the App.

5. Third-Party Data Processors & Disclosure (Section 8 & Section 16)

We do not sell your personal data. We disclose your data only to the following vetted Data Processors who process data on our behalf under strict security obligations (Section 8(5)):

In the event of any data breach impacting your personal data, we will promptly notify both you and the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) in compliance with Section 8(6) of the DPDP Act.

6. Data Security & Storage (Section 8(5))

We value your trust. Because your core data stays on your device, its security depends on your device's security. We strongly recommend using device locks (PIN, Pattern, Biometrics) to protect your phone and your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites linked within the App (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub).

9. Developer Contact & DPDP Act Compliance (Section 8(9) & Section 13)

In compliance with Section 8(9) and Section 13 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the contact details of the Developer are published below:

Right to Approach the Data Protection Board (Section 13(3))

If your inquiry or grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction by the Developer, you have the statutory right to file a formal complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI).

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and posting the new Privacy Policy within the App.

11. European Union (GDPR) & California (CCPA) Privacy Rights

GDPR Legal Basis: Legal Basis for Processing: We process local data to fulfill our contract to you (providing the App's core features). We process analytics data solely based on your explicit consent. You have the Right to Access & Data Portability, Right to Erasure, and Right to Withdraw Consent at any time.
CCPA "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": Right to Know and Access: You have the right to know what personal information we collect. (Note: We collect no personal information unless you opt into anonymous analytics). Right to Delete: You can delete all your data by uninstalling the App or clearing local data. "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can control all anonymous data sharing via the Analytics toggle in Settings.
